OMGC Lay Leaders Shine at Theology on Tap

The Coitos presenting to an attentive audience

On Wednesday, Aug 1st, 2018, OMGC community members and Augustinian Seculars (3rd Order) Jen and Jason Coito presented on the topic of discernment at a Theology on Tap talk in the Los Angeles area. Theology on Tap is a popular nationwide movement in which both priests and lay ministers are invited to give talks on various topics that would be of interest to a young adult audience, usually in a fun and relaxed restaurant setting. The Coito's live out an active faith life, Jason the Director for Young Adult Ministries for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and is also a product of Augustinian education- having graduated from St. Augustine High School in San Diego. His wife Jen works with the Sisters of Notre Dame in their Advancement Office.

In the final of a series of talks hosted by Mater Delorosa Retreat Center in Sierra Madre, CA. Jen and Jason Coito entered into the sometimes broad topic of discernment, something which is very relevant to the young adults in attendance at Theology on Tap. They spoke about learning how to hear God's voice, on the importance of trusting in God's desire for our happiness, and in finding authentic support and friendships.

The Coitos were supported by Fr. Mark Menegatti, OSA, of the OMGC community, who attended the talk and complimented them on their ability to offer the young adults who were present a true vision of authentic discernment in a challenging world.
