The Eucharist in the Streets in a Time of Pandemic

On Easter Sunday, St. Patrick's Parish in North Park offered parishioners the opportunity to have the Risen Christ arrive at their homes.

Fr. Carlos invited the community watching parish Masses through live stream to submit their home addresses and phone numbers for a visit. Because of social distancing guidelines, the Blessed Sacrament would be brought to each home, and parishioners were encouraged to remain on their front porches or doorways and to not make their neighbors aware of the vehicle arriving lest crowds form.

The initiative was the brainchild of Fr. Carlos, and Fr. Max had the idea of renting a convertible car for the day to make Jesus more fully present and visible to the parioshioners of St. Patricks and the community of North and South Park in San Diego.
