Br. Adnan Professes Solemn Vows

In a one of a kind out door ceremony at St. Augustine High School, Br. Adnan Ghani, OSA made his Solemn Profession of Vows before brother friars, visiting priests, friends, and the students and faculty of the school community.

The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Gary Sanders, OSA, prior provincial of the province, and Fr. Tom Whelan, OSA was invited to be the homilist of the Mass.

Solemn Profession is a landmark day in the life of a friar, and unites a friar to the Order of St. Augustine for life, similar to wedding vows.

In planning the ceremony, Br. Adnan was interested in allowing the students of the school to fully participate and be witnesses to the moving ceremony. One of the "highlights" of a Solemn Profession is when the candidate lays prostrate during the singing of the Litany of Saints.
